Power of 10 Lighthouse for Grieving Children Fundraiser

Our Club will be providing "hands on " support to this Fundraiser in support of the Lighthouse for Grieving Children Power of 10 is an indoor cycling challenge with the thought of the community at heart. The primary goal is to raise awareness for The Lighthouse for Grieving Children, foster new relationships in the community and, of course we have a goal to raise money to donate to the charity. The event has been fantastically supported by The Town of Milton staff and we will have 200 athletes participating. 21 teams of 10 will meet on Friday, October 14th 7pm at the Milton Velodrome, to cycle together on static bikes with the aim of hitting 1000km as a community within 100minutes. It promises to be a fun evening with team and individual cycling challenges and the chance to experience the atmosphere at the home of the national track team. Below is a quick summary of job tasks that Members will be asked to perform. In total we need at least 20 plus Members to assist at this Event Time commitment: approx 4 hours Date: Friday Oct. 14th Time: 5pm ( or as soon after work as you can get there) Location: Milton Veladrome Please register on-line or contact Rob Hewlett 2 Greeters 1 Floater • Greet people as they come in (1Lighthouse & 1 Committee member) • Hand out Waivers • Direct people to correct line • Floater will assist as needed Registration: Teams of 2 • Confirm individual registered • Collect signed waiver • Hand out wristband Power Zone / Meeting Area (Team Leader) • Direct registrants from Zone 1 to bag drop & meeting area this is NOT the Bike Zone…1/2 of Basketball court Volunteers will also direct registrants to restroom and changing facilities Registrants will locate team captains or designated volunteer at this point. Cycling Zone 2 Volunteers per team Volunteer 1: • Meets team captain in Zone 2 • responsible for monitoring distance and speed and challenge winners Volunteer 2: • Assist with bike fitting • Responsible for communicating data to control desk 2 extra volunteers to provide water support and direct to bikes and cool down zones Food & Beverage 4 Smart Serve Volunteers to manage beer & food
